Momentum can change in a matter of seconds.

Thunder Basin needed the first 10 seconds of overtime, to seize it for good at Sheridan’s expense.

Peityn Williams scored her only 3 of the game shortly after the OT jump-ball, and Kinley Solem added an insurance 3 about 1 1/2 minutes later, as Thunder Basin would pull away from Sheridan 53-44 to advance to the 4A Girls State Championship Game.

Aside from one free throw, the Lady Broncs couldn’t get one shot to drop in the extra 4 minutes, and all their tries were from behind the 3-point line.

As far as regulation went, neither team was able to get a big lead on the other.

The score was tied at 12 after 1 quarter, TB got a shot to drop at the halftime buzzer to go ahead 21-20, Sheridan tied the score at 29 after 3 quarters, and it was 43-all at the end of regulation.

Brooke Larsen led the Lady Broncs with 9 points.

Sheridan (15-10) will play in the 4A Girls 3rd Place game on Saturday, March 11th at 10:30am at the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper, against Cheyenne East.

Laney McCarty led the Lady Bolts with 17 points, while Williams put in a double-double (11 points, 10 rebounds).

TB (22-4) will play Cody, in the 4A Girls State Championship Game on Saturday at 6:30pm.
