Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey team is 1 win away from winning the NA3HL Frontier Division Playoffs, thanks to a 5-4 overtime win last night in Game 1 of their Best-of-3 Series at Helena.

Thirty seconds into the game, Vincent Leaf got the team on the board, and he then tied the game at 4 with 3:47 to go in the third period to force overtime.

Zachary Marsell scored the winning goal about 6 ½ minutes into the extra time.

Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow at the Whitney Rink inside the M&M Center.

The puck drops at 7:30pm.

If Game 3 is needed, it will be played on Saturday in Sheridan.


Sheridan HS Softball: The 2nd season for Sheridan High School begins this weekend.

Last year, in their inaugural season, the Lady Broncs went 19-11-2 and qualified for the State Tournament.

Head Coach Kristen Czaben says the team didn’t lose much to graduation and most of the starting line up is back.

Around this time last year, there was a lot of nervousness heading into the first few games, but Coach adds that’s not the case this time around.

Sheridan is scheduled to play tomorrow and Saturday in Cheyenne against Green River, Rock Springs, Laramie and Cheyenne South.

The home opener is scheduled for Friday, March 27th against Thunder Basin.


Sheridan HS Boys and Girls Soccer: The High School Soccer Season also starts this weekend.

The Sheridan Boys are last year’s 4A State Runners-Up, and have their share of players to replace from graduation, but the team also has some talent returning.

Head Coach Wade Kinsey says there’s no lack of motivation for the Broncs, after how last year ended.

As for the Sheridan Girls, they are working on making sure their season has a better finish than last year.

The Lady Broncs were 15-0-1 going into the state tournament, but then things nose-dived from that point on.

Head Coach Josh Dube says this year’s team has a good mix of both full time and part time players.

The Sheridan boys and girls are scheduled to play this coming Saturday at Buffalo.

The girls game starts at 10am and the boys game at 12-noon.


Mountain West Conference Men’s Basketball: Two of the 3 teams that played last night in the first round of the NIT advanced.

New Mexico dispatched of Sam Houston State 107-83, and will next play at home on Sunday vs. George Washington University.

Nevada won at home vs. Murray State 89-75 and will play at home on Saturday vs. Liberty.

Colorado State lost at home vs. St. Joseph’s 69-64.

UNLV is also in the second round and will play on Sunday at Tulsa.


Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets lost last night at Memphis 125-118.

The Nuggets are next scheduled to play on Friday at home vs. Toronto and on Sunday at home vs. Portland.


Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche lost last night at home vs. Dallas 2-1, losing via shootout 1-nothing.

The Avs are next scheduled to play on Friday at Chicago and on Sunday at Washington.


Colorado Rockies Pre-Season Baseball: The Colorado Rockies won yesterday at Cincinnati 8-6.

Ryan Ritter hit a solo home run to get the scoring started.

The Rocks are next scheduled to play today at home vs. San Francisco.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:10pm.
