Tongue River HS Golf: The first culminating event of the Wyoming High School fall sports season is about to take place on the golf course.
The 4A Golf State Championship is scheduled to take place this coming Friday and Saturday in Evanston, while the 3A State Meet will take place the same 2 days in Torrington.
New to the 3A competition is Tongue River, which has competed at the 2A level for many years in the past.
Easton Lewis is last year’s 2A boys state runner up.
In the past, 2A teams usually have not competed at the same meets with 4A and 3A teams, and this year TR has competed against teams from all 3 levels.
Lewis says the competition is different compared to the past 3 years.
Talitha Winfrey placed 5th at last year’s 2A girls state meet.
She says at first she was not happy when the word got out that the Eagle and Lady Eagle golf teams were moving up a level.
Winfrey also explains the differences between 2A competition and the rest.
As for the 2A State Meet, which is what Big Horn is competing in, that is also being held in Evanston, with Kemmerer serving as the host team, however since the 4A and 2A state meets can’t go on at the same place at the same time, the 2A State meet will be played next week Tuesday and Wednesday.
Sheridan Legion Baseball: There’s a few issues going on with Wyoming American Legion Post 7 and Sheridan American Legion Baseball Incorporated.
In a media release, Post 7 has said it has suspended its baseball program sponsorship, after months of unresolved compliance issues with National American Legion Baseball program rules.
Details of the conflict are unknown, but have been going on since December of last year.
Post 7 says it is giving Sheridan American Legion Baseball Inc. 30 days to resolve the issues, and if that does not happen, the post will form a new Sheridan American Legion baseball organization, so it is able to compete in the 2027 Wyoming American Legion Baseball season.
Fall baseball workouts will be allowed to continue.

The next rodeo competition is scheduled for this coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Central Wyoming College in Riverton.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies won last night at home vs. San Diego 9-3, to snap their 8-game skid.
Cole Carrigg hit both a 2-run and a 3-run home run for the cause.
The Rocks and Padres play each other again today, starting at 6:40pm.
