Sheridan HS Football: The Sheridan High School football team passed another test, this time on the road this past Friday at Campbell County 28-to-10.

The team was down 10-nothing mid-way through the 2nd quarter, before getting things together.

Gauge Rodgers’ 85-yard pick 6 in the 4th quarter kept the momentum on Sheridan’s side for good.

Head Coach Jeff Mowry says the main problem in the first half was that the Broncs were over-doing things.

With the win, Sheridan secures the #1 seed for the upcoming 4A playoffs, but there is one more game in the regular season to be played.

That game is this coming Friday at home vs. Laramie, which is also senior night.

Should the Broncs win that game, the team would break the state record, for longest home winning streak, as that would be #32.

Buffalo can get the East #2 seed with a win, and if Douglas loses.

Kaycee lost on Saturday at Hulett 65-26.

Trailing 19-zip at the start of the 4th quarter at home, the Broncos scored all 33 of their points in the final 15 minutes, capped off by Will Lutz’s walk-off 39 yard field goal, to beat the New York Giants 33-32.

The comeback started when Troy Franklin caught a deflected pass to make the score 19-to-8.

The Giants answered to make it 26-to-8.

Bo Nix ran for a score, to make it 26-16.

The defense came through with an interception, and then Nix found RJ Harvey 4 plays later, to make it 26-23, with a little less than 4 minutes to go.

The defense held the opposition to a 3 and out, and less than 1 minute later, Nix ran in from 18 yards, to put Denver ahead 30-to-26, with a little less than 2 minutes to go.

Then the Giants scored, but missed the point after, to go back up 32-30, with 37 seconds left on the clock and there was just enough time left for the Broncos to drive and get Lutz into position.
