Pat BlairThe Rocky Mountain Leather Trade Show, which is held in Sheridan in May, has been canceled.
The owners of the Leather Crafters & Saddlers Journal, which puts on the annual event, announced the cancellation in an email Tuesday morning.
The Journal publishers said they have enjoyed 26 consecutive years in Sheridan and the tradition will be continued next year – 2021 – on May 21-23.
The email states, in part, “We put our best foot forward this year to produce another memorable show, but we understand that even if social gathering restrictions are lifted in time, it wouldn’t be prudent to welcome many hundreds of people so soon afterward, as the timeline of this pandemic lengthens (seemingly) by the day.”
The email ends, “We will certainly miss spending time with you all.”
