Pat BlairIn accordance with guidelines recommended by Governor Mark Gordon, schools in Sheridan County School District 3 are currently closed.
But the plan, according to School District Superintendent Charles Auzqui, is to resume classes on April 6.
Auzqui said said the school district is making sure to take care of the health not only of the students but of district staff.
In a meeting this week, District 3 trustees approved moving the spring break to start next week instead of in April. Auzqui said that will provide a two-week window for evaluation of the situation.
He said there are several plans that the district is considering in terms of resuming classes. He said the two main plans the district is looking at would be to resume classes in the school buildings in Clearmont and Arvada or to provide some type of instruction for students in their homes, either online or by providing materials to students at home.
