Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon signed an Executive Order Friday declaring a State of Emergency in Wyoming in response to the nationwide coronavirus pandemic. Governor Gordon, in a news release, said that the proactive measure allows him to more quickly activate the Wyoming National Guard in the event it is necessary, and also makes state businesses eligible to apply for federal funding from the Small Business Association.

The Governor said that the action was taken to ensure we are prepared in the event additional steps need to be taken and that we continue to be most concerned about our state’s elderly and vulnerable populations and want to ensure we are taking all necessary steps to address what we may face going forward.

President Trump made a federal emergency declaration Friday, freeing up federal funding to fight the pandemic. Governor Gordon’s Executive Order ensures the State Health Officer has the authority to address large-scale health challenges the state may face in the future. In addition, with the declaration, some Wyoming small businesses will be eligible for emergency loans from the Small Business Administration (SBA) to help offset impacts from the coronavirus pandemic.

I feel every aspect of the govt is causing undue panic in the nations people. If the symptoms and sickness is no worse than described why are you doing this? Common sense and sensible precaucautions make more sense. How many Chinese have actually died??? Is this just political propaganda? Americans should pay close attention to what is playing out.

Just because the news is alarming doesn’t mean it’s designed to cause panic. The amount of deaths we ultimately have is completely dependent on how many people can get adequate medical care if they need it and this virus spreads so rapidly it has the potential to completely overwhelm our healthcare system. We saw this in the early stages of the outbreak in China and we’re seeing it now in Italy and Iran. We also know the most effective method for slowing the spread of any virus is to keep our distance from each other so the measures the state and local govt. are taking are prudent and cautious and, I believe, completely warranted.

A simple google search entitled ” how many people have died from coronavirus” shows the answer to your question– over 5600 folks have died in the world. This virus is HIGHLY contagious. That is why! Even Trump is on board now with an national emergency declaration, maybe because his daughter and himself have been exposed. Be careful your politics don’t cloud your judgement..

I understand that there are confirmed cases but if they have been caught in enough time and are being put into a place to be observed to and taking preventative measures – that should be all that needs to be done. Closing school – again I understand is a preventative measure and it does put a hardship on people, the problem I have is that the school wants me to put my daughter in front of a screen and keep doing school work but I cannot put her in front of a screen to do her work because she does not focus that way and it causes more problems. So what will be done for those of us who cannot go to therapy or get the things we need due to no funds and nothing is in stock. I feel that the schools should have been closed for 2 weeks, not 3. This best be over soon because I feel that it is causing more panic and hysteria than necessary. And has nobody else noticed that something “drastic” happens each election year? Welcome to Y2K in 2020 – that is how this feels.

A school teacher said very recently: “In the end, it will be impossible to know if we overreacted or did too much, but it will be Quite apparent if we under reacted or did too little”
