One student and one faculty member of the Northern Wyoming Community College district, which includes Sheridan College, Gillette College and the Sheridan College in Johnson County Campus, have been placed under quarantine for a minimum of 14 days according to a message from NWCCD President Dr. Walt Tribley who said that they are continuously monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak. Dr. Tribley, in a news release issued by the College District, said they are in contact with local and state healthcare officials and incorporating information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to help determine the best course of action. Which campus the quarantined student and faculty member are from, has not yet been made available by the College District.

Furthermore, Dr. Tribley said they are keeping the safety of their students, employees, and communities at the forefront of their decision making, however, their core mission is education and they will do everything possible to ensure students reach their goals. The update from Dr. Tribley goes on to say that the Northern Wyoming Community College District Crisis Management Team continues to meet regularly to discuss the next steps and that all college-sponsored trips, domestic and international, have been canceled. The College District is considering extending Spring Break in order to take advantage of this time to prepare, assess, and ultimately help mitigate the spread of the virus.
