Ucross is inviting the public out for an exciting night of Broadway and holiday cabaret with award-winning composer and performer Steven Lutvak at the WYO Performing Arts & Education Center on Dec. 4. Lutvak composed the music for A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, which won the Tony Award for Best Musical in 2014.
The evening will begin with a free reception in the WYO lobby at 6:30 p.m. Guests will have the opportunity to get a taste of the forthcoming The Ucross Cookbook: Cooking for Artists on a Wyoming Ranch, meet Ucross Chef Cindy Brooks, and enjoy complimentary appetizers made from recipes included in the book.
Communications & Special Events Manager, Caitlin Addlesperger told listeners of Sheridan Media’s Public pulse program, how that cookbook came together.
Ticket holders will then move to the Mars Black Box Theater at 7:30 p.m. for a performance by Lutvak.
Lutvak is an alumnus of Ucross, the artist residency program located on a historic 20,000-acre ranch 30 miles from Sheridan. He is the only composer to have won the Jonathan Larson Award (named after the creator of the hit musical Rent) two times.
Currently, Lutvak is at work on two new musicals headed for Broadway and the movie adaptation of A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder.
Tickets for the Broadway Cabaret with Steven Lutvak are $35 for adults, $20 for students or a $200 VIP Pass, which includes premium seating, The Ucross Cookbook: Cooking for Artists on a Wyoming Ranch, and an after-performance meet-and-greet with Lutvak. Tickets are limited, and can be purchased here.
