Objection Period Open for Tie Flume Vegetation Management Project

Big Horn National Forest officials have announced the period is now open for objections to be made on the Tie Flume Vegetation Management Project.

The project area encompasses 47,500 acres southeast and southwest of the junction of U.S. Highways 14 and 14A in the Tongue River Ranger District of the Forest.

Proposed action includes around 2,000 to 3,500 acres of commercial harvest and 1,700 acres of precommercial thinning within the area. The project includes potential prescribed burning in an area of about 25,000 acres along with aspen and riparian meadow restoration, fish habitat improvement and road and trail activities.

The objection period will be open 45 days from the date the legal notice is published in the Casper Star-Tribune.

Objections may be mailed, faxed or e-mailed. Objections can be mailed to Administrative Review Officer, Tie Flume Vegetation Management Project, 1617 Cole Boulevard, Building 17, Lakewood, CO 80401.
