SCSD2 Superintendent Releases Letter on Closure

Dear Staff, Students, and Parents,
Governor Mark Gordon and Superintendent of Public Instruction Jillian Balow have recommended
that all Wyoming schools close, effective immediately, through at least April 3, 2020. Based on this
recommendation, SCSD2 schools will close beginning Monday, March 16.
Over the last several weeks, the district has been working on contingency plans for serving
students and will share information with families as plans are solidified. The district will continue to
work with local and state health officials on plans for educating students.
Our primary concern is always for the health and safety of our students and staff. During the
school closure, county health officials advise families to avoid gatherings of more than 50 people
and to stay home when possible. They also advise that parents keep children at home and avoid
gathering with friends.
The district will be in touch soon with more details. For information on the local response, we
encourage you to visit the Sheridan County website:

Take care,
Craig Dougherty
