Beck Haswell Of Sheridan HS Named 2025 Wyoming Gatorade Football Player Of The Year: For the 7th time in 10 years, Sheridan High School has produced the top football player in the state according to the coaches.

The latest addition is Beck Haswell who has been named the Wyoming Gatorade High School Football Player of the Year for the 2025 season.

He is this year’s 4A Lineman of the Year after recording 41 tackles on defense, including 6 sacks and 10 tackles for a loss.

Last week Haswell officially signed the paperwork to become a Wyoming Cowboy and explains what he thinks it was that the Pokes’ Coaching Staff saw in him.

Offensively this season, he had 583 yards in rushing, receiving and passing combined and scored 8 touchdowns.


Sheridan Lady Hawks Amateur Hockey: The Sheridan Lady Hawks went 1-0 with 1 tie this past weekend at Cody.

Friday’s was a 13-13 slugfest, and then the Lady Hawks won Saturday’s game 8-4.

Sheridan is scheduled to play in their home opener this coming Saturday and Sunday vs. Cheyenne.


Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks won both ends of a home-and-home series vs. Rapid City.

Friday’s score on the road was 7-3 and Saturday’s score at home was 4-1.

The team now has a 10-point lead on the closest opponent in the NA3HL’s Frontier Division, and things are about to get interesting in terms of the competition.

The 3-day Showcase starts this coming Sunday in Blaine, Minnesota, which is a Northern suburb of Minneapolis.

All teams in the NA3HL will be paired up against teams from other divisions that have similar records.

First up on Sunday at 5:15pm Mountain Time is the defending NA3HL Champs, the Louisiana Drillers, who are based out of Lafayette and are undefeated after 23 games in the Southeast Division.

The Drillers boast the top offense with 263 goals scored and the top defense, only letting 19 pucks get into the net.

Next Monday, Sheridan will take on the East Division leading Long Beach Sharks out of New York, and next Tuesday the Hawks will go up against the host team, the Minnesota Moose, who lead the West Division.

After the Showcase Event, Sheridan will take a little time off for the holidays, and resume play on January 2nd and 3rd.

The next home games are not until January 16th and 17th.


University of Wyoming Men’s and Women’s Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys made it 7-0 inside the Arena-Auditorium this past Saturday, thanks to a 93-80 win vs. Dartmouth College.

The Brown and Gold shot almost 53% for the game and got 63 points from the bench.

Five players scored in double figures.

Leland Walker led the way with 18 points, while Adam Harakow put in 16.

Nasir Meyer and Khaden Bennett each contributed with 14, and Jared Harris added 11 for the cause.

UW is now 7-2 on the season and are scheduled to play again tomorrow at home vs. the University of South Dakota.

The Wyoming Cowgirls lost yesterday on the road against Colorado 58-46.

The ladies only scored 4 points in the second quarter and never recovered.

Henna Sandvik and Malene Pedersen each put in 11 points, and Logann Alvar scored 10.

The Cowgirls are 3-5 on the season and are next scheduled to play this coming Sunday at the University of Minnesota.


Mountain West Conference Football: Seven Mountain West Conference teams will play in bowl games later this month.

Back on Friday, Boise State defeated UNLV 38-21 in the Mountain West Conference Championship Game, to 3-peat as Conference Champs.

The Broncos will play this coming Saturday in the LA Bowl vs. Washington.

Utah State will play in the Potato Bowl in Boise on December 22nd against Washington State.

The following day, UNLV will play Ohio University in the Frisco Bowl, just north of Dallas.

Hawaii will host Cal in the Hawaii Bowl on Christmas Eve.

New Mexico goes up against Minnesota in the Rate Bowl, which will be played in Phoenix on December 26th.

The last 2 games are on December 27th.

Fresno State is in the Arizona Bowl in Tucson vs. Miami of Ohio, and San Diego State is heading to the New Mexico Bowl in Albuquerque, to challenge North Texas.


Denver Broncos Football: The Denver Broncos made it 10 wins in a row after defeating Las Vegas on the road yesterday 24-17.

The Broncos were up 24-7 with 4 minutes to go, then let the Raiders off the hook.

Quarterback Bo Nix was 31 of 38 passing for 212 yards and he ran for 1 touchdown.

RJ Harvey ran for another and Marvin Mims Junior returned a punt 42 yards to the house.

Denver nearly had a 2-to-1 advantage in time of possession and the defense held the Raiders to 40 yards rushing.

As it stands right now, the Broncos would have the #1 seed in the AFC playoffs.

The team is next scheduled to play this coming Sunday at home vs. Green Bay.

In other football news, with their loss last night at home vs. Houston, this will mark the first time since 2015, that Kansas City will not finish 1st in the AFC West.

The Chiefs trail Denver by 5 games in the standings, with only 4 games left on the schedule.


Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets won both weekend road games, winning on Friday at Atlanta 134-133, after trailing by as many as 23 points.

The team also won yesterday at Charlotte 115-106.

The Nuggets are next scheduled to play this coming Thursday at Sacramento.


Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche won a pair of road games over the weekend, winning on Saturday at the New York Rangers 3-2 in overtime, and won yesterday at Philadelphia 3-2.

The Avs are next scheduled to play again tomorrow at Nashville.
