Wyoming High School Football: The Wyoming High School Football season has been over for 3 weeks now and plans are already being made for next year.
The Wyoming High School Activities Association recently released most of the 2026 schedules.
The WHSAA schedules matchups for all 4A teams as well as the conference matchups for the other classes.
Non-conference opponents are up to the discretion of the teams.
In 4A, the teams remain the same but the order of opponents were switched up, and in a few cases, a few head-to-head matchups were reversed, meaning if team A visited team B this past season, it is possible that team A may visit team B again.
This switch up is done every 2 years, and next year is the year.
For Sheridan, the team will visit Campbell County and Rock Springs again and on the flip side, the Broncs will entertain Cheyenne Central and Laramie for the 2nd year in a row.
Sheridan will play the 5-home 4-away schedule next year, opening up at Rock Springs, and the home opener is against Cheyenne South.
The Broncs will visit both Gillette teams and Natrona County.
As for home games, all 3 Cheyenne teams as well as Laramie will visit Sheridan, meaning in 2027, the Broncs will make 4 trips to southeast Wyoming.
As for Big Horn and Tongue River, they will start 2A East conference play vs. each other at BH.
Torrington returns to the 2A East, and the Upton-Sundance merger is no more.
The 2 schools have separated and each will play 9-man football next season.

In 2027, teams will play the same opponents in the same order as they did in 2026, but home and away games will switch.
Sheridan HS Cross Country: The Sheridan boys won their second state championship in school history back in October.
The other was in 2019.
The Broncs were led by freshman Eli Balkenbush and junior Aadan Luna who finished 3rd and 5th individually.
Head Coach Art Baures says the team was experienced with the course in Cheyenne, as they were there at the start of the season back in late August.
He adds all the team had to do was believe in themselves.
Those who want to run indoor track and field in the winter, have to wait until practice starts, which isn’t until January 5th.
University of Wyoming Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys swept the weekly awards in the Mountain West Conference.
Senior Leland Walker was named the player of the week.
In last week’s 2 games, he averaged 22 points per game, shot 53% from the field and was a perfect 10 for 10 from the free throw line.
For the second time this season, Nazir Meyer has been named the freshman of the week.
Last week he averaged 11 points per game and also shot 53% from the field.
UW next plays this coming Saturday at home vs. Dartmouth College.
Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets lost last night at home vs. Dallas, 131-121.
The Nuggets next play tomorrow at Indiana.
