Sheridan Lady Hawks Amateur Hockey: It’s time for high school aged hockey teams to hit the ice.

The 2-time defending state champ Sheridan Lady Hawks start their season by running the gauntlet on the road.

The team plays tonight and tomorrow morning at Pinedale, and then tomorrow night and Sunday at Jackson.

Pinedale was last season’s 3rd place team and Jackson was last season’s state runners-up.

Sheridan Head Coach Jay Charlebois says a lot of talent graduated from last season’s team that needs to be replaced.

As for the opposition…not so much.

The Lady Hawks play their first 6 games on the road, and will play their home opener on Saturday and Sunday, December 13th and 14th vs. Cheyenne.

Sheridan Hawks Boys Amateur Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks boys amateur team started their season 2 weeks ago, with a pair of 5-2 wins at Casper.

The team competes at the ‘B’ Level and is scheduled to play their home opening games tomorrow and Sunday vs. Rock Springs.

Hawks Head Coach Ryan Johnson says like the girls, the boys also lost a good amount of talent to graduation, but so far he’s seen some more speed compared to last year, and now it’s a matter of finding out which players will step up scoring wise.

The puck drops tomorrow at 4:15pm and on Sunday at 10am.

Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks will conclude their 8-game homestand with games today and tomorrow vs. Butte.

The puck drops in both games at 7:30pm.

This weekend marks the halfway point of the season.

University of Wyoming Football: The Wyoming Cowboys play their home finale tomorrow against Nevada.

The Wolfpack may be 2-8 on the season, but just showed some signs of life last week, by beating up San Jose State 55-10.

Pokes Head Coach Jay Sawvel says the team needs to bust out of its offensive slump this week, against a Nevada team that had their best performance of the year so far.

Kickoff from War Memorial Stadium is scheduled for 12-noon.

You can hear the game LIVE on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.

There will be a special moment at halftime as the University will retire the jersey number of former Cowboy and current Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who will be in attendance at the game.

Buffalo ended up playing in the Thursday night game last night and has this weekend off from competition.

University of Wyoming Men’s and Women’s Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys will try to recover from their first loss of the season this Sunday, as the team hosts Norfolk State.
