Sheridan HS Football Injuries: The injury bug has been known to help itself to a team meal in any sport, and do so at a time when it’s not invited.
The Sheridan High School football team was on the menu this year, yet the team managed to endure, persevere, recover and continue to win games.
Senior Breck Reed found himself on the injured list for about 1 month midway through the season, and returned in time for the playoffs.
He says it’s an unfortunate part of the game sometimes, but it can also be a motivator.
Head Coach Jeff Mowry says when one player went down, there was more than enough experience on the team to make up for what was lost, even if it was a temporary loss.
Statistics-wise, Sheridan finished with the 4th best offense and 4th best defense in Class 4A on the season.
Big Horn HS Volleyball: In the 2A ranks, the East teams dominated the West teams this season and it showed at the state tournament earlier this month, as East conference teams took home all 4 trophies.
That meant throughout the season including the regional and state tournaments, teams such as Big Horn ended up playing some East Regional teams as many as 5 times this season.
Lady Rams Head Coach Alli Nikont says it’s hard to beat an opponent that many times, and there’s almost always either some new lesson to learn, or a lesson to re-learn as a result.
BH recently 3-peated as 2A State Champs and has won 4 of the last 5 state titles.
University of Wyoming Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys play their first road game of the season today, as the team visits Sam Houston State.
Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30pm and you can hear the game LIVE on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.
For the second week in a row, a UW player has been named the Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Week.
Gavin Gores from Cumberland, Wisconsin recently won the honor.
Last week he averaged 9 ½ points and 4 ½ rebounds, plus he also shot 57% from the floor in the win against Austin Peay State.
