Sheridan/Buffalo Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball team went 2-3 in games played this past weekend in Billings, Montana.

On Thursday the team lost vs. Parker, Colorado 8-6 and against the Billings Scarlets 5-2.

On Friday, Sheridan defeated Great Falls 9-1 and on Saturday, beat the Black Gold 47’s out of Alberta, Canada 17-2.

Yesterday the Troopers lost in the 3rd place game vs. the Billings Royals 7-3.

Sheridan has a busy schedule at home this weekend.

First up is a home conference double-header vs. Jackson on Thursday, then a non-conference home double-header vs. Cody on Saturday, and then a home conference double-header vs. Laramie on Monday.

As for the Buffalo Bulls, they lost both games on Friday at Lovell 9-6 and 12-2.

The team is scheduled to play a home double-header today vs. Wheatland.


Sheridan HS Grad Golfer Shelbi Gardner To Play In 2025 Junior America’s Cup: For the second time in her career, recent Sheridan High School grad and Black Hills State University women’s golf incoming freshman, Shelbi Gardner, has qualified for the Junior America’s Cup and will represent Team Wyoming.

The event will be held at the Kierland Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona, on July 22-24 with 12 teams from the western United States and others from Canada and Mexico.

Gardner, who is last year’s Class 4A Girls State Runner-Up, qualified through the Wyoming State Golf Association’s junior amateur tournament in Gillette about 2 weeks ago.

Last year, she was the second-best finisher for Team Wyoming at the 2024 Junior America’s Cup, held in Midway, Utah.


Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies lost 2 out of 3 games this past weekend at Milwaukee.

Friday’s game was a 10-6 loss.

On Saturday, Colorado managed only 1 hit and lost 5-zip.

Yesterday, the Rocks won 4-3 in 11 innings.

Orlando Arcia’s solo home run in the 9th inning tied the game and then Kyle Farmer’s RBI single in the 11th made the difference.

Today is an off day on the schedule and then the Rockies return home tomorrow to start a 6-game homestand with 3 games vs. Houston, followed by 3 games vs. the Chicago White Sox.
