Sheridan HS Football: Sheridan will play their home opener today vs. Thunder Basin.
The opposition is coming off of a 4-6 record last year and lost at home vs. Natrona County last week to start this season.
Broncs Head Coach Jeff Mowry says the Bolts have an advantage when it comes to the amount of experience coming back from last year.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6pm.

Big Horn HS Football: Big Horn plays at home vs. Lovell, who the team considers to be a worthy opponent to start the season.
The 2 teams have a lot of recent history between them, as they have started each of the previous 5 seasons vs. each other and in each of the past 3 seasons, the Rams and Bulldogs have played a rematch in the post-season.
Lovell graduated their quarterback from last year, who was the best in Class 2A and 2nd best in all classes in terms of passing yards per game, but BH Head Coach Kirk McLaughlin says the opposition has ways to make up for that loss.
Kickoff at Big Horn is scheduled for 6pm.
Tongue River HS Football: Tongue River will play their home opener vs. Thermopolis.
The Eagles had their moments, both good and not so good in last week’s exhibition loss against the Sheridan JV team.
Head Coach Steve Hanson explains what he saw and what needs to be worked on.
Kickoff at Tongue River is scheduled for 6pm.
Sheridan/Johnson County HS Volleyball: Sheridan, Big Horn, Tongue River and Buffalo are all scheduled to compete today and tomorrow at the Gillette Invitational.
The Lady Broncs and Lady Bison will play each other today, as well as Cody and Rapid City, St. Thomas More.
The Lady Rams are pooled with Natrona County, Wheatland and Laramie.
The Lady Eagles will take on Rapid City Central, Campbell County and Sundance.
Tomorrow’s schedule and matchups are dependent on today’s results.
As for Arvada-Clearmont, the Lady Panthers are scheduled to start 1A Northeast Quadrant play today at Upton, and play at home tomorrow vs. Midwest.
Kaycee is scheduled to start their season today at home vs. Hulett.
Sheridan/Johnson County HS Golf: Sheridan and Buffalo are both playing at the 2-day Buffalo Invitational that started yesterday.
Tongue River and Big Horn are scheduled to play today at a 1-day meet at Moorcroft and tomorrow at Lusk.
Sheridan HS Tennis: Sheridan is playing in Cheyenne today and tomorrow in 4 non-conference matches.
The Broncs and Lady Broncs will take on Torrington at 12-noon today, and that match will be played at Cheyenne South.
Then at 3pm, they’ll take on the host team.
Tomorrow Sheridan is scheduled to play at 9am and at 12-noon at Cheyenne East and at Cheyenne Central respectively.
Sheridan/Johnson County HS Cross Country: Sheridan, Buffalo and Tongue River are all scheduled to run today at the TA Ranch located south of Buffalo.
The varsity girls run at 10:30am and the boys at 11.
Sheridan/Johnson County HS Girls Swimming: Sheridan is scheduled to compete today at Kelly Walsh and tomorrow at Natrona County.
Buffalo is scheduled to swim today at Cody.
University of Wyoming Football: The 1-0 Wyoming Cowboys play their home opener tomorrow in Laramie, as the team will take on the Panthers of Northern Iowa.
Kickoff is scheduled for 2pm and you can hear the game LIVE on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.
Sheridan College Rodeo: The 2025-2026 season starts today, tomorrow and Sunday for Sheridan College.
Chadron State is the host for this weekend’s competition.
There are 10 rodeos on this season’s schedule with 5 of them taking place in September and October, while the other 5 will take place in March and April.
Competitors earn points based on what place they finish in at each rodeo event.
The top 3 individuals in each event at the end of the season in April, automatically qualify for the College National Finals Rodeo, which will be held in mid-June in Casper.
Last season was the first time since 2011 that no one from Sheridan College qualified for the CNFR.
The College will host its annual weekend event on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 26th, 27th and 28th at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds.
Denver Broncos Football: The Denver Broncos start their regular season schedule on Sunday at home vs. Tennessee.
Kickoff is scheduled for 2:05pm and you can hear that game LIVE on Fox Sports 106.3 FM.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies were swept at home in a 3-game series vs. San Francisco, losing on Wednesday 10-8.
The Rocks were off yesterday and the team will start a 3-game series today at home vs. San Diego.
First pitch today is scheduled for 6:40pm.
Tomorrow’s game starts at 6:10pm and Sunday’s game begins at 2:10pm.
