University of Wyoming Football: The Wyoming Cowboy football team has been practicing for about 1 ½ weeks, and even though the first game is 3 weeks from today, the coaching staff is already trying to put some kind of game plan together.

The Pokes open up at Akron on Thursday, August 28th.

Head Coach Jay Sawvel says the plan may have to undergo some adjustments and a few things may have to be improvised between now and then.

Last year Akron went 4-8 on the season, including a 3-5 record in the Mid-American Conference.

This year the Zips will not participate in any kind of post-season play, because the program has been placed on a 1-year ban by the NCAA for failing to meet the Progress Rate score.
