Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball team will hold senior night tonight, as the team plays in their home finale in a double-header vs. the Billings Expos.

First pitch is scheduled for 5pm and you can watch a LIVE video stream of the game at sheridanmedia.com and on the Sheridan Media Facebook and youtube pages.

James Timberlake will have the LIVE radio play-by-play on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.

The AA State Tournament starts Monday at Cheyenne.

In the first round, Sheridan will take on Laramie in the first game of the day at 9:30am.

Other first round games have Gillette vs. Rock Springs at 12:30pm, Casper against the Cheyenne Hawks at 3:30pm and Cheyenne Post 6 vs. Jackson at 6:30pm.

The state champ qualifies for the AA Northwest Regional Tournament, which will be played in Billings, Montana.


Sheridan Jets Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Jets will host the Wyoming A-League State Tournament which starts tomorrow.

Games start at 10am between Powell and Torrington, then it’s Wheatland vs. Lovell at 1pm, the Casper Drillers vs. Riverton at 4pm and the Jets take on Cody at 7pm.

Sheridan Head Coach Brian Fritz says Cody played the Troopers and not the Jets this season, but knowing that the Cubs have been good, year in and year out, he has some idea as to what to expect and how to counter.

The championship game is scheduled to take place on Monday.

The State Champ will qualify for the A-League Northwest Regional Tournament, which will be played in Burley, Idaho.


Swimming: The Sheridan Swim Team participated in the Wyoming Swimming Long Course Championships held this past weekend in Gillette.

Senior Ben Forsythe won the boys 17 and 18 year old 100 meter free style, 50 meter freestyle, 100 meter breaststroke and the 200 meter individual medley races.

Sophomore Hannah Mowry won the girls 15 and 16 year old 50 meter butterfly race.


Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies won game 2 of their 3 game series last night at home vs. St. Louis 8-4.

Mickey Moniak hit a solo home run and Ryan McMahon provided a 3-run blast to aid the cause.

The Rocks will try to make 2 out of 3 against the Cardinals, as the 2 teams close out the series today starting at 1:10pm.

Colorado is off tomorrow and then on Friday, the team will start a 6-game road trip with 3 games at Baltimore, followed by 3 games at Cleveland.
