Sheridan County HS Golf/Tennis/4A Football Practice About To Start: This coming Monday is the day that some Sheridan County High School athletes have been waiting for.

Practice starts for all classes of golf, tennis and 4A Football.

The 4-time defending state champ Bronc football team will hit the field at 7am Monday for the start of 2-a-day practices.

Players can’t put the pads on until Thursday.

The first game is scheduled for Friday, August 29th at Cheyenne South.

Golf can start competition as early as Wednesday.

Sheridan is scheduled to compete Thursday and Friday at Powell, while Big Horn and Tongue River are scheduled to compete on Friday at Upton and on Saturday at Thermopolis.

Tennis can start competition as early as one week from tomorrow.

As for volleyball, cross country, girls swimming and all other classes of football, practice doesn’t start until the following Monday, August 18th.


Legion Baseball: Gillette held on yesterday to beat 2-time Montana State Champ Missoula 4-3, in the 2nd round of the AA Northwest Regional Tournament in Billings.

The Roughriders will take on Idaho Falls today at 7pm.

The winner of that game is in the regional championship game on Sunday, but still has to play tomorrow.

At the A-League Northwest Regional Tournament in Burley, Idaho, Wyoming Champ Lovell was victorious in their first round game against the host team 6-2.

The Mustangs will play in the second round today vs. Montana Champ Bitterroot, located out of Hamilton at 7pm.


Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies were off yesterday.

The team starts a 6-game road trip today with 3 games at Arizona, followed by 3 games at St. Louis.

Today’s game starts at 7:40pm.

Tomorrow’s game begins at 6:10pm and Sunday’s game at 2:10pm.


Denver Broncos Football: The Denver Broncos are ready to play their first exhibition game of the season.

The team plays tomorrow at San Francisco.

Kickoff is scheduled for 6pm.
