Sheridan College Rodeo: The Sheridan College Rodeo team started the 2024-25 season this past weekend at Chadron State College in Nebraska.

Three competitors made it to Sunday’s short-go.

Sierra McGregor placed 8th overall in the barrel racing and Josie Johnson was right behind her in 9th.

In the Saddle Broncs Jake Schlattman placed 5th overall.

No competition is scheduled for this week.

The next event is scheduled for September 20th-22nd at Central Wyoming College in Riverton.


Sheridan County HS Golf: Sheridan is on the course today and tomorrow at the 4A State Qualifying Meet in Cheyenne.

Tongue River and Big Horn won’t compete until Friday and Saturday at a 2-day event at Lusk.

Next week is the state meet.

The 4A meet will be held at Star Valley, while TR and BH will host the 2A meet at Kendrick Golf Course.


Sheridan County HS Volleyball: This weekend will be a 2A showcase of sorts.

Thirteen of the 14 2A teams will compete on Friday and Saturday at the Big Horn Invitational, including BH and Tongue River.

Each matchup will feature all 6 teams from the East vs. 7 of the 8 teams from the West.

The only west team that will not be participating is Wyoming Indian.

Competition on Friday starts at 9am and it will be a rolling schedule throughout the weekend.

Before that, Big Horn will host Pine Bluffs for a match tomorrow starting at 7pm.

Meanwhile, Sheridan will start 4A East Conference play this Friday and Saturday with home matches vs. Cheyenne East and Central Central.

Arvada-Clearmont will compete at the 1A Invitational that will take place at Saratoga and at Encampment.


Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies were shut out last night at Detroit, 11-zip.

Game 2 of the 3-game series is today starting at 4:40pm.
