High school soccer is a spring sport, but one Sheridan High School player is ready to play next fall.
Ellie Williams has signed her letter of intent to play at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne.
She says she had also been contacted by Northwest College in Powell, Central Wyoming College in Riverton and Black Hills State.
Williams adds she’s been playing soccer since she was kindergarten age and was playing at the YMCA.
“I just love soccer, it’s my favorite thing to do. If I can go out and dribble a ball around, I’ll do that. It’s just so much fun to play. I think just my love for soccer and competitiveness, I love competing in games and I just love doing that kind of stuff.”
Williams says she is considering majoring in animal science.
LCCC women’s soccer has had a history of qualifying for the NJCAA Division 1 National Championship Tournament.
The Lady Golden Eagles last played on the national stage in spring of 2021, which was the fall 2020 season that ended up being postponed due to the COVID pandemic.
