Governor Gordon Discusses the Budget, Revenue Picture
Last summer, Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon announced budget cuts for the current two-year budget cycle totaling more than $250 million, or nearly 10 percent of the state’s general fund budget. The budget cuts were in response to revenue projections that showed an almost $1 billion shortfall for the general fund and another $500 million for school funding. In November when Gordon released his supplemental budget proposal, it included cuts totaling approximately $500 million on top of the 10 percent cuts that were implemented in July. Gordon, in an interview with Sheridan Media, discussed the State’s budgeting process.
Governor Gordon said the one thing that is not yet resolved is what will be done about school finances.
