Sheridan Media facilitates donations from anonymous donors to Christmas Wish Campaign

For 23 years Sheridan Media has facilitated The Christmas Wish program. Each year the demand becomes greater but the generosity of the Sheridan community ensures that many of these wishes come true.
According to Sheridan Media Sales Manager Jim Schellinger, the employee owned media company received 68 wishes this year. Wishes for bills to be paid, to wishes for a visit from Santa Claus came into the station and so did the donations.
To ensure as many of those wishes were granted as possible, the Sheridan County community donated approximately $40,000 in funds to help their fellows during the holiday season. These donations made it possible for Sheridan Media to grant 34 wishes this year.
Some of the first wishes to be addressed and granted deal with the necessities of life such as food and housing, according to Sheridan Media Traffic Director Liz Kincaid.
According to Kincaid, other gifts included visits from Santa, the purchase and return of a pair of wedding rings that had been pawned to pay bills, even something as simple as the purchase of a dinner to show a husband’s appreciation.
Amid COVID-19 one may think that Christmas 2020 would bring more wishes than in traditional years, but that wasn’t the case, according to Schellinger. The wishes this year didn’t increase but more wishes included the payment of medical bills. One thing that did increase though, according to Schellinger, were the amount of donations from those people willing to help during a time of year that reminds us, we are all in this together.
Sheridan Media wishes to thank the following sponsors, without which, the Christmas Wish Program could not have happened, Rocky Mountain Exteriors, Atlas Chiropractic, Heartland Kubota, First Federal Bank and Trust and Advanced Auto Body.
