Ace in the Hole Players Present The Wizard of Oz at the Kalif Shrine Temple in Sheridan 

The Kalif Shriners and Ace in the Hole Players are partnering once again to bring live community dinner theater to Sheridan while raising funds to support the Shriners’ Children’s Clinics. 

Kalif Shriners and former Potentates Bill Rathburn and Steve Schlenker and Ace in the Hole Players co-founder Aaron Lindon and Business Manager Rebecca Arcarese made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to talk about the volunteer-driven production of The Wizard of Oz. 

Ace in the Hole Players was founded to bring the once-popular tradition of dinner theater back to the Sheridan community. By partnering with the Kalif Shrine, the nonprofit found a venue complete with a kitchen and volunteer staff while also supporting the Shriners’ mission of raising funds and awareness for Shriners Hospitals for Children. Since its founding, Ace in the Hole Players has brought classic productions to the stage, including The Music Man and White Christmas.

Lindon said the Wizard of Oz is a classic that has recently gained more recognition with younger generations.

The Ace in the Hole Players will present The Wizard of Oz at the Kalif Shrine Temple, beginning at 6 p.m. Aug 6, 7, and 8. A matinee will be featured at 1 p.m. on Aug 9. The dinner menu includes hand carved roast beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, SPEEDY’s corn on the cob and dinner rolls. Runtime is 180 minutes with an intermission at which time a dessert will be served.
