Natural History Museum of Wyoming Opens Second Location in Ranchester

The Natural History Museum of Wyoming and Executive Director Thomas J. Hebert made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to talk about the museum’s new second location.  

The new facility is located in Ranchester, expanding opportunities for exhibits, educational programming and community engagement. The new location is more than just a museum for storage, it is receiving, cleaning, reassembling and displaying some of the newest finds.

Hebert said the expansion grew out of a need for additional space to house the museum’s growing collection. When he learned the building was available, he realized it could also help expand the museum’s educational mission.

The move also provides additional space to grow the museum’s collection, host educational activities and better fulfill its mission of inspiring curiosity about Wyoming’s natural history through interactive exhibits and hands-on learning experiences. 

Hebert hopes the new location will attract visitors from across the region while strengthening partnerships with local schools, volunteers and the surrounding community.
