F.A.I.R. Posse Passes the Torch to the Wyoming State Fair Foundation Wranglers

On August 8, at 5:30 p.m., the community invited to celebrate a legacy of service and the beginning of a new volunteer tradition at the Wyoming state fair.

After nearly 40 years of dedicated volunteer service to the Wyoming State Fair, the F.A.I.R. Posse will officially retire its organization and ceremonially pass the torch to the newly established Wyoming State Fair Foundation (WSFF) Wranglers Volunteer Program during the annual Friends and Family Sheep Wagon Dinner. “The Sheep Wagon show is happy to host this passing of the torch.” says Rhonda Dilts.

The event will take place at the Wyoming State Fairgrounds, located down the hill from the Wyoming State Fair Main Office.

The evening will honor the countless volunteers whose passion and commitment have helped shape generations of Wyoming State Fair memories. The ceremony will recognize the legacy of the F.A.I.R. Posse while celebrating a new chapter of volunteerism through the Wyoming State Fair Foundation.

“The F.A.I.R. Posse has always been about people who simply wanted to make the Wyoming State Fair better,” said Paul Taylor, President of the F.A.I.R. Posse. “While our organization is coming to a close, the spirit of service that brought us together is not ending, it is simply beginning a new chapter. We are proud to pass the torch to the Wyoming State Fair Foundation Wranglers, knowing the tradition of volunteerism will continue to grow for future generations.”

The newly formed WSFF Wranglers Volunteer Program will serve in various instrumental roles all year long, in particular the big need during the Wyoming State Fair. Wranglers will assist with rodeo events, hospitality, special events, fundraising activities, educational programs, guest services, and countless behind-the-scenes efforts that help make the Wyoming State Fair one of Wyoming’s most treasured traditions.

“This part of the Friends and Family event at the Sheep Wagons is more than a retirement ceremony,” said Kenzie Andrews, Wranglers Volunteer Coordinator for the Wyoming State Fair Foundation. “It is a celebration of the decades of volunteer leadership from the F.A.I.R. Posse and a love of helping make Wyoming’s best annual celebration a success. The F.A.I.R. Posse built an incredible legacy, and we are honored to carry that tradition forward through the WSFF Wranglers. Their service has laid a foundation that future volunteers can proudly build upon.”

The event will feature recognition of former F.A.I.R. Posse members, a ceremonial passing of the torch, the introduction of the WSFF Wranglers Volunteer Program, dinner with friends and family, and opportunities for community members to learn how they can become involved in the Wranglers.

Anyone interested in volunteering with the Wyoming State Fair Foundation is encouraged to attend and learn more about becoming a WSFF Wrangler, and if you plan to eat, don’t forget to bring your own meat.
