Sheridan/Johnson County Unemployment Rates Decrease From June To July 2025
For the third month in a row, Wyoming’s unemployment rate did not change, but the North-Central part of the state saw a noteworthy drop in its percentage rates.
The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services says the statewide seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for July 2025 held steady at 3.3%, which is where the rate has been since April.
The rate was also at 3.3% in July of last year.
The US Seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for July was at 4.2%, which is up from 4.1% in June, and is unchanged from one year ago.
Sheridan County’s unemployment rate decreased from 3.6% in June to 2.5% in July.
That 1.1 percentage drop is tied with 3 other counties for the biggest one month decrease in the state.
The rate was at 3.0% in July of last year.
Johnson County’s rate from June to July, decreased from 3.0% to 2.2%, and was at 2.7% in July one year ago.
The Department says unemployment rates often fall in July, because of seasonal job gains in construction, leisure and hospitality, and professional and business services.
The lowest unemployment rate in Wyoming for July 2025 was in Teton County at 1.4%, while the highest rate was in Big Horn County at 3.6%.
Non-farm employment in the Cowboy State increased by 2,100 jobs from July of last year to July of this year.
