Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: Last year the Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball team went 1-6 in their annual trip to Omaha, Nebraska.
This year they went 3-3 beating 2 teams from Nebraska and 1 from South Dakota.
Head Coach Austin Cowen says that record could’ve been a little better, but he’s pleased with the effort of his players.
Tanner Hamrick says compared to last year, the team didn’t fold up shop when they were behind on the scoreboard.
The Troopers next play this weekend in a tournament at Billings, Montana.
The team plays Parker, Colorado tomorrow at 12:30pm and the Billings Scarlets at 3pm.
On Friday, Sheridan plays Great Falls, Montana at 10am, and then on Saturday their opponent is the Black Gold 47’s from Alberta, Canada.
Sunday’s opponent is to be announced.
The next home game is scheduled for Thursday, July 3rd.
The AA State Tournament is a little more than 1 month away in Cheyenne.
Sheridan HS Softball: There may have been players from other schools playing for Sheridan, but the host school also represented the team.
Getting acquainted with players from another school, especially when you don’t team up with them in other sports, can be tricky, but Layna Lollar says everyone addressed that challenge early on in the season, and it resulted in some good team-work.
Sheridan qualified for the state tournament in their inaugural season and put together a record of 19-11-2.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies lost the first game of a 3-game home series last night against the LA Dodgers 9-7.
Game 2 is today starting at 6:40pm.
