Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey Team has righted the ship and evened up their record at 3-3 on the season, thanks to a pair of wins this past weekend at Cody.

After playing their first 6 games on the road, the team gets to enjoy the comforts of home for the next 2 games.

This weekend will be the first under the new schedule format, where Sheridan will play 2 different opponents.

Rapid City is in town on Friday, while Cody visits on Saturday.

The Hawks lost both games at Rapid City at the start of the season, but Big Horn High School grad Kiefer Dunham says a lot has changed since then, and playing 2 different opponents this weekend doesn’t change the game plan much.

Returning player Vincent Leaf scored a total of 5 goals in the 2 games vs. Cody this past weekend.

He says the new players need to get comfortable with their new home ice quickly.

The puck drops both Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm.

Sheridan HS Volleyball: Sheridan split home games this past weekend, winning against Cheyenne South 3-0, but lost 3-1 vs. Laramie.

The Lady Broncs are currently 9-6 on the season, and have a 3-1 record in the 4A East.

The first weekend of the season didn’t go well, but Head Coach Danielle Sullivan says she wasn’t all that concerned.

Sheridan next plays this coming Friday and Saturday at the Casper Invitational.

The next home match is scheduled for Thursday, October 2nd vs. Campbell County.

Sheridan HS Girls Swimming and Diving: Sheridan is hosting their pre-invite and Invitational this weekend.

Teams participating include defending 4A State Champ Laramie, as well as Jackson, both Casper teams, Worland and Buffalo.

Junior Hannah Mowry placed 3rd last year at the state meet in both the 100 yard Butterfly and 100 yard Breaststroke competitions.

She explains what the competition has been like so far this season, and what kind of competition she’s expecting this weekend.

Sophomore Liah Fjell placed 3rd last year in the 50 yard freestyle race at the state meet.

She says she’s targeting the other Lady Broncs team this weekend.

Competition at the Sheridan Junior High School swimming pool is scheduled to start at 4pm Friday and at 9am on Saturday.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies lost the first game of a 3-game series last night at Seattle 4-3.

The bullpen was trying to hang on to a 3-1 lead, but the Mariners would score 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning.

The 2 teams will play each other again today, starting at 7:40pm.
