Sheridan HS Volleyball: Last year was the first time since 2016 that the Sheridan HS Volleyball team qualified for the state tournament.
In between those times, opponents were taking the Lady Broncs less and less seriously each year, because the team was coming up short in their bid to get back to the big tournament in Casper.
Junior Chalaya Bales says after claiming the 3rd place trophy last year, Sheridan is getting some overdue respect that the team deserves and with it, some tougher competition.
The Lady Broncs are 14-8 on the season with a 4-2 record in the 4A East.
The team will start their second run through the conference this coming weekend, as the team hosts Cheyenne East on Friday and Cheyenne Central on Saturday.
University of Wyoming Football: The special teams unit for the Wyoming Cowboys did not live up to their billing, in this past weekend’s loss at home vs. UNLV.
Two punts were blocked and returned for touchdowns and that made a difference in the final score of the game.
Head Coach Jay Sawvel it may not have necessarily been the fault of those assigned to protect the punter.
There’s also the long snapper which requires aim and speed.
UW will look to regroup this coming Saturday at home vs. San Jose State.
Kickoff is scheduled for 5pm.
Denver Nuggets Pre-Season Basketball: The Denver Nuggets won their pre-season game last night vs. Toronto 112-108.
The game was played in Vancouver.
The Nuggets play their next pre-season game this coming Sunday at the LA Clippers.
The regular season starts 2 weeks from this coming Thursday.
Major League Baseball Playoffs: The LA Dodgers won at Philadelphia 4-3, to take a 2-nothing lead in their National League best of 5 division series.
The Dodgers will try to go for the sweep tomorrow at LA.
Milwaukee is up 2-games to none on the Chicago Cubs after last night’s 7-3 win.
The Brewers are also going for a sweep tomorrow.
In the American League, Game 3 is today as Toronto will try to sweep the New York Yankees at New York.
