Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball Team recently went 3-3 in their trip to Omaha, Nebraska last week.

Not only did they face a lot of out of state competition, they were also able to attend a College World Series game.

Avon Barney says there are things to learn from a college championship level environment.

Ethan Evans says the team needs that kind of an atmosphere both at home and on the road.

The Troopers next play this weekend in a tournament at Billings, Montana.

On Thursday, the team plays Parker, Colorado at 12:30pm and the Billings Scarlets at 3pm.

On Friday, Sheridan plays Great Falls, Montana at 10am, and then on Saturday their opponent is the Black Gold 47’s from Alberta, Canada.

Sunday’s opponent is to be announced.

The next home game is scheduled for Thursday, July 3rd.

Sheridan HS Softball: It’s been more than 1 month since the inaugural season ended for Sheridan.

Softball has been a varsity sport in Wyoming for 5 years now, and it took a few years for the Lady Broncs to get on board.

Although all players wore Sheridan colors, not everyone went to Sheridan High School, but were allowed to play because of Wyoming’s co-oping rules.

Head Coach Kristen Czaban says it made for an interesting challenge trying to get the girls to gel together, and although some school loyalty may have been elsewhere, they got the job done.

In their inaugural season, Sheridan went 19-11-2 and qualified for the state tournament.

College Rodeo: Last week was the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper.

Sheridan College did not represent this year, but a couple of cowboys from other Wyoming Junior Colleges won national championship belt buckles.

Cooper Filipek of Gillette College won the bareback riding competition and James Perrin of Casper College won the Saddle Bronc Riding.

The fall portion of the 2025-26 college rodeo season will start in September.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies were off yesterday.

Today the team starts a 3-game series at home vs. the LA Dodgers.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:40pm.
