Morning Sports: April 28, 2025

Sheridan/Buffalo HS Soccer: The season is past the halfway point and both of the Sheridan High School soccer teams are undefeated so far.
The boys are 7-0 with 2 ties after winning games this past weekend at home vs. Laramie and Cheyenne South.
The girls are 8-0 with 1 tie after beating the same 2 opponents on the road.
Tomorrow, both the Broncs and Lady Broncs will play their makeup game vs. Campbell County.
There has been another switch-around in the schedule.
The boys will play at home starting at 6pm and it will be senior night, since it’s their last home game of the season.
The girls will play their game tomorrow on the road.
The Buffalo boys and girls lost both games this past Friday at Cody.
The teams next play on Friday at Douglas and on Saturday at home vs. Rawlins.

Sheridan HS Softball: Sheridan went 3-1 in games played this past weekend, and 2 of those wins were the quadrant games that mattered.
On Friday, the Lady Broncs split games at Campbell County and won both at home vs. Worland on Saturday.
Tomorrow the team will host Cody in their home finale.
Varsity start times are scheduled for 4 and 6pm.

Sheridan/Johnson County HS Track and Field: Sheridan hosted the Dan Hansen Invitational back on Saturday.
Buffalo is scheduled to host a meet this coming Thursday.
Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers won 2 out 3 games at home vs. the Rapid City Post 22 under-18 team.
The team is now 7-4 on the season and next play a pair of non-conference games on Saturday at Casper.
Buffalo lost both of their games yesterday at home vs. Powell.
The Bulls next play a pair of games on Saturday at Douglas.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies lost all 3 games at home this past weekend vs. Cincinnati.
Friday’s score was 8-7.
Jordan Beck, who has been on a tear lately for the Rockies, hit 2 solo home runs in that game.
Saturday’s score was 6-4.
Michael Toglia hit a 2-run shot and Adael Amador went yard himself.
Yesterday’s score was 8-1.
The Rocks start a 3-game series today at home vs. Atlanta.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:40pm.
Denver Broncos Football/NFL Draft: The 2025 Draft has concluded and the Denver Broncos ended up with 7 players.
In Round 1, the team drafted Jahdae Barron, a cornerback out of Texas.
In Round 2, they called RJ Harvey, a running back out of Central Florida.
Denver had 2 picks in round 3 and selected Pat Bryant, a wide receiver from Illinois and Sai’vion Jones, a defensive lineman from LSU.
More defense in Round 4, as the Broncos went after Que Robinson, a defensive lineman from Alabama.
In Round 6, the team picked a punter in the form of Jeremy Crawshaw from Florida and in the final round, Denver drafted Caleb Lohner, a tight end out of Utah.
No one from the University of Wyoming was selected.
A total of 6 players from the Mountain West Conference heard their name called.
Two of them from Boise State, and 1 each from Colorado State, Utah State, Nevada and UNLV.
Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets won Game 4 of their first round best of 7 series at LA Clippers on Saturday 101-99, to tie the series at 2 wins each.
The team squandered a 20-point lead that they had at the start of the 4th quarter, and then won the game on a controversial dunk at the buzzer by Aaron Gordon.
Game 5 is tomorrow at Denver, starting at 8pm.
Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche won Game 4 of their first round best of 7 series at home vs. Dallas on Saturday 4-0, to tie the series at 2 wins each.
Game 5 is today at Dallas, starting at 7:30pm.
