Colorado Rockies Baseball: Yesterday was opening day for 28 of the 30 Major League Baseball Teams, but if you look at the scoreboard, you might think the Colorado Rockies were playing pre-season ball.

Playing last night at Arizona, the Rocks were only down 2-1 going into the bottom of the 3rd inning, and that’s when the bottom came out.

The Diamondbacks would score 14 runs on a combination of 7 singles, 3 doubles and 1 sacrifice fly, and batted around twice in the inning.

That 14-run inning is an Opening Day record, for most runs scored in 1 inning and is tied for 4th for most runs scored in 1 inning, in any game, since the Modern Era started in 1900.

Colorado starting pitcher Kyle Freeland lasted 2 ⅓ innings giving up 10 runs, 10 hits and struck out 2 and had an ERA of 38.57.

Anthony Molina didn’t do any better in relief, lasting ⅓ of an inning, faced 8 batters, gave up 6 runs, 6 hits and had an ERA of 162.

Offensively, the Rockies only managed 4 hits, 2 of them from Ryan McMahon who had the lone RBI.

Game 2 of the 4 game series is today at 7:40pm.

Sheridan Troopers Baseball: One week from tomorrow, the big boys will play ball in Sheridan.

The Troopers have been practicing for sometime in preparation for the upcoming Wyoming American Legion Baseball season.

Last year Sheridan had a record of 41-22, and had the #1 seed at the state tournament, but was eliminated in 3 games.

Head Coach Austin Cowen says like any year, the team has to replace what was lost to graduation, but he has a good crop of players coming back.

The Troopers will host defending A-League state champ Powell for a double-header on Saturday, April 6th.

Sheridan County HS Track And Field: Buffalo will host a meet today, although not as many teams will be participating as originally planned.

Big Horn and Arvada-Clearmont will compete, but Sheridan and Tongue River will not.

The Broncs will next compete one week from today at Spearfish, South Dakota, while the Eagles will compete at Greybull.

University Of Wyoming Cowgirl Basketball: The Wyoming Cowgirls play today at home vs. South Dakota, starting at 6:30pm in their Super 16 game in the WNIT.

You can hear that game LIVE on FOX Sports 106.3 FM.

If the Cowgirls win, they would play the winner between North Dakota State and Minnesota, and they’ll have a quick turn-around for the next game, because according to schedule, the quarter-finals will be played either Sunday or Monday.

Mountain West Conference Men’s Basketball: The season for San Diego State ended last night in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament, with an 82-52 loss vs. UConn.

All Mountain West Conference men’s basketball teams have been eliminated from post-season play.

Colorado Avalanche Hockey: After winning 9 in a row, the Colorado Avalanche have now dropped 2 straight, losing last night at home vs. the New York Rangers 3-2, and losing a shootout 2-0.

The Avs next play tomorrow at home vs. Nashville to conclude their 5-game homestand.
