As mentioned the Hawks do not control their own destiny to make the playoffs.
The team is 4 points behind in the standings in the chase for the final playoff spot.
The need to win both games and have 5 other things happen.
Number 1 and number 2 is, they need Rapid City to lose both games against Gillette.
Number 3 and number 4 is, they need Great Falls to lose both games against Butte.
Number 5, and this is the most important one, all games involving Rapid City and Great Falls can not go to overtime, regardless of outcome.
Those games must end in regulation.
In the standings, a team gets 2 points for a win, and 1 point if they lose a game in overtime or a shootout.
If the Hawks win both games vs. Cody and get all the help they need, then there would be a 3-way tie for the final playoff spot and it would come down to tie-breakers.
