State Wrestling Day 1: The Sheridan boys wrestling team went a combined 20-17 in both the first round and in the first round of wrestle-backs yesterday, during the first day of the 2024 Wyoming High School State Wrestling Meet in Casper.

That puts the Broncs in 3rd place, and they trail Thunder Basin by 11 points in the 4A standings.

Meanwhile the Tongue River boys sit in 10th place in the 2A standings.

On the girls side, Sheridan is in 8th place and not everyone competed on the first day.

Not every bracket is filled, so some lady wrestlers got a first round bye in their bracket, and that does not win any team points.

The quarter-finals are today starting at 10:30am, second round wrestle-backs go at 1:30pm.

The semi-finals start at 4 o’clock and 3rd round wrestle-backs begin at 6:30.

Action tomorrow starts at 10:30am and the championship matches start at 2:15pm.
