Denver Broncos Football: The season for the Denver Broncos is now officially over and it ended with a 27-14 loss at Las Vegas yesterday.

The Broncos finish the season with a record of 8-9 and were tied with the Raiders for 2nd in the AFC West, however Denver lost both head-to-head games, so the team is credited with a 3rd place finish which has some impact on which teams they will face next season.

The team will pick 12th in the first round of the NFL Draft.

NFL Playoffs Are Set: In the AFC, Baltimore has the number 1 seed and will have a first round bye.

Buffalo and Miami finished tied for 1st in the AFC East, but the Bills won both head-to-head matchups, so they get the #2 seed and will host Pittsburgh.

Miami drops to the #6 seed and will travel to Kansas City who is #3.

The other first round matchup is the 5-4 game, which is Cleveland at Houston.

The Browns and the Dolphins were tied for the 5 and 6 seeds, and did not play each other, but Cleveland had a better record vs. AFC opponents.

In the NFC, the San Francisco 49ers are the #1 seed and do not play this weekend.

Dallas won the East and Detroit won the north and both teams had the same record, but Dallas won the head-to-head matchup, so the Cowboys are #2 and the Lions are #3.

Tampa Bay won the South to claim the #4 seed and they will host Philadelphia.

The LA Rams will go to Detroit, and Dallas will host Green Bay who won a 3-way tie-breaker to claim the final wild card spot.

The Packers were tied with Seattle and New Orleans.

The Saints lost out because they had a worse record vs. NFC opponents.

Green Bay and Seattle did not play each other and it came down to the strength of victory tie-breaker.

What happens is you take the combined win-loss records of each team that the Packers and the Seahawks beat.

Green Bay was 70-83 in that category, while Seattle was 60-93.

As for the playoff schedule…on Saturday beginning at 2:30pm it’s Cleveland at Houston and that will be followed by Miami at Kansas City.

On Sunday, it’s Pittsburgh at Buffalo at 11am, followed by Green Bay at Dallas and then the LA Rams at Detroit.

Next Monday night, it’s Philadelphia at Tampa Bay.

Denver’s next game is Wednesday at Utah.

Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche got thumped at home on Saturday vs. Florida 8-4.

Colorado was down 2-0 about 3 minutes into the game.

They had the score tied at 4 early in the 3rd period, but it was all downhill after that.

The Avs next play tonight at home vs. Boston.

Sheridan Hawks Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks won both games at Cody this past weekend.

On Friday, they scored twice in a 14-second span in the first period, and had a 3-0 lead in the second period, but Cody would tie the game at 3 with a little less than 3 minutes to go in the 3rd period.

Tanner Freed needed only 11 seconds of overtime to score the winner as the Hawks would prevail 4-3.

On Saturday, Sheridan took no prisoners winning 9-1.

The Hawks have now won 9 of their last 11, sit in 5th place in their division and are only 4 points out from a playoff spot with less than 2 months to go in the regular season.

The team is at home this coming Friday and Saturday vs. Rapid City.
