Dog and Cat Shelter Reports Strong Participation in Spay and Neuter Programs
Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter Operations Manager Hannah Edwards made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse and discussed clinics and spay and neuter programs within the shelter for the 2025 year.
Edwards said the winter season typically sees less dog surrenders, giving the staff an opportunity to complete tasks such as deep cleans and spend more time with the animals they do have at the shelter.

The shelter keeps a list of residents who have an animal to surrender. Typically the shelter is at capacity, meaning the list of animals scheduled for surrender can become very long.
Edwards said she was pleased to report the surrender list is currently clear, with no animals waiting to be brought in.
The Spay and Neuter Certificate Program saw strong participation this year, and Edwards said vaccination clinics were also well attended by community members.
