Morning Sports: November 17, 2025
Sheridan HS Football: If the Sheridan High School Football team played at the pro level, then the team won one for the thumb this past weekend.
The Broncs would prevail against Campbell County 17-10, in the 4A State Championship Game this past Saturday at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie, to 5-peat as State Champs.
The first drive of the game for Sheridan stalled near midfield, but then Breck Reed pulled off a fake punt, got the first down, and the team would eventually score.
The senior says Assistant Coach Marshall McEwen anticipated that that type of situation might happen.

The Broncs close out the 2025 season by extending their state record winning streak to 55 games, which is the 3rd longest active winning streak in the country and the longest west of Ohio.
The team is now the 3rd team in Wyoming High School Football History to win 5 state titles in a row.
Big Horn HS Football: Big Horn went blow for blow, or touchdown for touchdown and pulled off several tricks, but came up short in the 2A State Championship game vs. Mountain View 41-38.
Junior Cruz Hernandez had 260 all-purpose yards and scored 4 touchdowns, while quarterback Tucker Wulff threw for 302 yards and had 4 TD tosses.
The differences were that the Rams threw 3 interceptions, and could not stop MV Quarterback Justus Platts who had 485 all-purpose yards and was involved in all 6 touchdowns for the Buffalos.
BH finishes the season with a record of 10-1.

Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks split home games this past weekend, winning on Friday vs. Gillette 8-1, but lost on Saturday vs. Rapid City 2-1 in overtime.
In Friday’s game, Jameson Clark scored 4 goals.
The Hawks conclude their 8-game homestand this coming Friday and Saturday vs. Butte.
University of Wyoming Football: The rain may have been a little bit of a factor, but the offense for the Wyoming Cowboys did not do well, as the team lost this past Saturday at Fresno State 24-3.
The Pokes only had 184 yards of total offense.
Quarterback Kaden Anderson was 6 of 23 passing for 64 yards and 1 interception.
Mason Drube out of Gillette, made his debut and was 2 of 5 for 13 yards.
UW is now 4-6 on the season and are scheduled to play their home finale this coming Saturday vs. Nevada.
The Wolfpack just won their first conference game this past weekend, as they clobbered San Jose State 55-10.
University of Wyoming Men’s and Women’s Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys improved to 4-0 on the season, as the team defeated the University of Portland this past Saturday 93-56.
The Pokes got 57 points from the bench and were led in scoring by Jared Harris who put in 16 points.
Leland Walker added in 15, and Sheridan High School grad Garrett Spielman got his first 2 points of the season.
The Brown and Gold are scheduled to play on the road for the first time this season, this coming Wednesday at Sam Houston State.
The Wyoming Cowgirls lost their 2nd straight game on the road this past Friday at Santa Clara, 76-45.
The ladies only scored 3 points in the second quarter and never recovered.
Malene Pedersen led the team with 16 points.
The Cowgirls are next scheduled to play this coming Friday at the University of North Dakota.
Denver Broncos Football: The Denver Broncos got another walk-off field goal, as the team picked up a big win at home vs. Kansas City 22-19.
Will Lutz was 5 for 5 kicking wise, including a 54 yarder with 4:15 to go to tie the game, and then kicked a 35 yarder to win it.
Quarterback Bo Nix was 24 of 37 passing for 295 yards.
Jaleel McLaughlin ran for Denver’s lone touchdown of the game.
With the win, the Broncos now lead the AFC West by 2 games ahead of the LA Chargers with 6 remaining, and right now would have the #1 seed for the AFC playoffs.
This week is an off week on the schedule, and the next scheduled game is the Sunday night game on November 30th at Washington.
Before yesterday’s game, the Broncos announced that running back J.K. Dobbins was placed on injured reserve, after sustaining a foot injury in the previous game against Las Vegas.
Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets won their 7th straight game on Saturday at Minnesota 123-112.
Nikola Jokic with a triple-double…27 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists.
The Nuggets are next scheduled to play today at home vs. Chicago.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm.
Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche won yesterday at home vs. the New York Islanders 4-1.
The Avs are next scheduled to play this coming Thursday at home vs. the New York Rangers.
