Willis Lawrence

Willis A. Lawrence of Buffalo WY passed away January 24, 2024. Willis was born to Robert C Lawrence and Elanor (Erck) Lawrence on April 20, 1936. He attended school in Thermopolis and graduated from JCHS in 1954. He worked many jobs including carpenter, barber, Postal Employee, Wyo. Highway Dept. Employee, and the Wyoming National Guard and retired from the Guard as a recruiter. Willis was known for his ability to try many different activities from rock climbing, woodworking, hunting, fishing, and many other activities that came along. He was forever including his children and grandchildren in his activities.

Willis is survived by his wife Georgia of 68 years; daughters Georgina (Dusty) Hackett; and Joleen Roberts; Jane (Paul) Gale and Sheryl (Wade) Ritterbush—nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-great-grandchildren round out his family. Willis is preceded in death by his father, mother, brother, two nephews, and one niece.

Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held at 10:00 am at the Willow Grove Cemetery on Saturday, June 15, 2024.

    I was very sorry to learn of Willis having passed away. He was an interesting man and I always enjoyed my visits with him. My condolences to his family.

    Name is Joe LaBrake,
    Im deeply hurt and saddened by Willis’s passing he recruited me in the late 70s. And went into active military and retired in 04.I know the family very well. Last I knew he was in Newcastle. I have been trying hard to locate him and his wife
    How can I contact his wife? I’m in Buffalo today. Can you help me maybe have her call me?
