Kenneth Georgen

Kenneth Earl Georgen passed away on August 7, 2026, at the age of 95 at the Sheridan VA Medical Center. He was born in Sheridan, WY, on March 28, 1931. He graduated from Sheridan High School and trained as a laboratory technician before serving in the United States Army. He married Carliene Kathryn Peters in 1952 and later divorced. Ken married his second wife Ruth Marie O’Brien and made their home in Antioch, CA, where they treasured their life together for almost 39 years.

Ken is survived by his children Kenneth (Caryn), Cynthia (Steve Baskin), Christopher, Laurie (Gery Koch), Ann (Pat Cain), Margaret (Ed Bettencourt), and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his immediate family, Ken is survived by his loving companion Peggy Corson and best friends Steve and Jaci Schmidt.

Ken was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth, parents Lee Elmer Georgen and Grace Leone Carmon, sister Ruth Irene Georgen Atchison, and brother Leland Wilson Georgen.

Over the course of Ken’s life, he enjoyed backpacking, fishing, reading and especially playing cards. He owned a cabin in South Lake Tahoe for many years and there he hiked countless mountain peaks and trails. More recently, Ken hiked Wyoming’s Steamboat Rock at the impressive age of 86!

Ken was dearly loved and will be missed very much.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Grace Anglican Church,

1992 W. 5th St., Sheridan, WY, on September 3, 2026, at 3:00pm.
