Albert N. Bailey Jr.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Albert N. Bailey Jr who passed away peacefully at his ho e in Sheridan, Wyoming, on August 14, 2026, at the age of 83. Al was born on December 28, 1942, in Peru, Indiana, to Albert N Bailey Sr and Katheryn Day (Cunningham).
Al Worked for the railroad from age 18 until he moved to Cody, Wyoming, to run Day’s Salvage. He later returned to the railroad and became an engineer until he retired. He loved running the trains.
In earlier years, he became a figure-8-racer and truly enjoyed it. He was also one of the few who could ride a ramp and drive the car on 2 wheels. Another passion of his was flying planes. He received his Private Pilot’s license on 4/29/1986. He could fly multiple single-engine planes. He owned 2 Pipers and a Cessna that he liked. He had 9 different ones, but those were his favorites. He enjoyed hunting, going to the mountains, horses and his dogs.
Al met the love of his life, April Bailey, in July of 1997. They married on March 18, 2003. They had 29 happy years together. April was by his side to the end.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Bailey Sr. and Katheryn Day; a brother Joseph Stanley Bailey (Sonny); and a grandson, Brandon Bailey.
He is survived by his wife, April Bailey (Sheridan); his children, Cindy Bailey Hackworth (Sheridan), Mike Bailey (Plymouth, Indiana), Kathy Bailey (Kokomo, Indiana), Scott Bailey (Story), Tom Bailey (Virginia), Sonia Bailey (Billings). Three stepchildren: Stephanie Richmond (Sheridan), Denelle Campbell (Sheridan), and Wayne Campbell (Sheridan). He has 19 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-gradchildren.
Al’s kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and unwavering love will be missed but never forgotten.

Al Im so sorry I didnt make it to see you. And I hope April always gave you the hugs i askef her to give you. I love you my dearest Brother in law. I hope you met up with Charlie and my girls. RIP Al. Till we all meet again. Love Wendy
