Susan Elizabeth Kinney
Susan Elizabeth Kinney grew up in Sheridan, Wyoming and was a graduate of the Holy Name High School. She had four brothers and enjoyed all of them while growing up.
She was a graduate of the Carroll College in Montana earning a bachelor degree in Medical Record Science and rose to become the Chief of Medical Administration Service during her long career with the VA healthcare system.
She had two terrific and successful sons Donald and Richard who she loved dearly and an athletic grandson, Riley. She spent as much time with him as she could. She met Dr. Christopher Lowther at the VA hospital in Cheyenne and they eventually married and moved to Cody, Wyoming where he established a practice in Dermatology and Internal medicine and he attributes his success to her knowledge of the healthcare system. She involved herself with her sons many sports activities such as basketball, football, skiing and fishing and loved to attend her grandsons hockey and lacrosse games. She enjoyed gardening and refurbishing furniture.
She and her husband had a good life together. They traveled often to Italy to see his Italian friends and also to New England, Australia and New Zealand. She was a person who never had a bad word for anyone. One young woman who worked in the Cody office described her as “having the biggest heart she had ever seen.” Her husband will miss her dearly and is grateful for the long loving marriage they had together.
Interment will take place Monday, August 24, 2026 in the Juniper Heights section of the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery, at 1:00 p.m.
