Lawrence Lamar Arbogast

Funeral services for Lawrence Lamar Arbogast, 68-year-old Buffalo resident who passed away at his home on Sunday, August 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife and daughter, will be held Friday, August 14th at 10:00 a.m. at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with Donny Paulson officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Harness funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will be in Willow Grove Cemetery with graveside services to follow the funeral. Larry was born on January 21st, 1958, in Springfield, Ohio, to Lamar (Mac) and Harriet Arbogast. He attended schools in Springfield, where he could be found on weekends running a trapline with his friend Danny Mitch. Together they earned “play” money and created memories.

In 1975, the family moved to Kaycee, Wyoming, where Larry graduated from high school with the class of 1976. Two days later, he was employed at the uranium mine. Larry worked every position through six mine ownerships, remaining the constant and always valued employee. He spent the last 20 years at the mine as the radiation safety officer, retiring in June of 2025.

Larry moved to Buffalo shortly after graduation, and in 1980 married Jill Francis. Together they raised his daughter, Misty. Larry spent six years of his Buffalo life as an EMT for Dave Harness and was also a valued wilderness EMT.

Widowed in 2023, Larry threw himself into his job and devoted his spare time to the mountains, fishing, and tying flies, until he met his wife, Janice. He shared his love of the mountains with Janice, and the Razor, and fishing. They also enjoyed some travel and always a Friday night date.

Survivors include Larry’s wife, Janice, whom he would tell you he didn’t get long enough with; his daughter Misty and her husband Jamie Knaub of Wright, Wyoming; his grandchildren Jadin Kolberg, Kimber, and Tanner Knaub; stepsons Kenneth Keffer and his wife Heather Ray, from Bloomington, Indiana, and Preston Keffer of Brookings, South Dakota. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Lamar (Mac) and Harriet Arbogast, his sister Kathleen Kathy Arbogast, and his wife Jill.
