Antique Car Show at the Trail End State Historic Site

A jewel in the crown of history for Sheridan, the Trail End State Historic Site is built in the Flemish Revival style and the 13,748 square foot mansion provides an insight into life during the period 1913 to 1933, as seen through the eyes of John B. Kendrick and his family who built the mansion.

A self-made business man, cowboy John B. Kendrick would remain at camp and read while his cowboy counterparts would head into town for a drink. Through his good business decisions Kendrick became one of Sheridan’s prominent residents. The Kendrick Mansion would be his family’s home. By the time the home was completed in 1913, it was an architectural and technological marvel. The home had electric lights (approximately 250 light bulbs), a stationary vacuum system, an intercom, a telephone and more.

Site Superintendent Sharie Shada is inviting everyone to attend the Vintage Car Show on Saturday, Sept. 18, at the Trail End State Historic Site. There’s no cost to see the cars and the mansion will be opened to walking tours. Admission into the mansion is $4 per Wyoming resident adult, $8 for non-resident adults and children 17 and under are free, but must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

The Vintage Car Show will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. According to Shada, the cars will be older than 1970 for a good reason.
