Hospitalization rate a concern for SMH

Sheridan County has added another 17 lab confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total for the county to 2,697 since the pandemic began.
The Wyoming Department of Health accepts the PCR tests as the gold standard for the testing process. Through PCR testing it has been determined that in Sheridan County 70 cases of COVID-19 are active in the community. Through the use of Antigen tests it has been determined that another 28 cases of the virus are probable within the county.
According to Sheridan County COVID-19 Public Information Officer Jennifer Graves, there have been 11 recoveries from the virus within the last 24 hours. Sheridan County has experienced 32 deaths from complications of COVID-19.
Currently, six patients are hospitalized in Sheridan County suffering from the virus.
According to Sheridan Memorial Hospital CEO Mike McCafferty, testing at SMH has nearly doubled in the last few weeks.
But it’s another number that has medical professionals more concerned. At the height of the pandemic in Sheridan County, the peak number of hospitalizations in SMH was 15, at that same time the county had over 500 active cases. With the peak of nine patients hospitalized this week and only 98 active cases in the community, McCafferty said that’s a concerning trend.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention list Sheridan County at a level of community transmission as HIGH.

How many of those people are here illegally?

I am sure the number of immigrants here if any, are not the main cause of spreading the virus. Perhaps let’s consider the 90% of the unmasked people I encountered in Albertsons yesterday, no way to tell if they were even vaccinated of course. I would say the people who refuse to mask, vaccine, or social distance are mainly Wyoming residents and the intense desire to ” get back to normal ” even though a large number never practiced CDC guidelines at the very beginning anyway. Let’s put the blame where it belongs , ourselves and the people from other states we graciously invited here. I pray every day that these issues will be resolved.

If you don’t want to encounter people living their lives freely, stay in your house and have your groceries delivered. You’re welcome.
