Sheridan College Symphony Band and Trombone Choir Concert
The Sheridan College Symphony Band and Trombone Choir will perform in concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 8, in Kinnison Hall at the Whitney Center for the Arts. The free event is open to the public and marks the Symphony Band’s first program of 2026 under the direction of Director of Bands and Jazz Studies Dr. Eric Richards.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Richards said many attendees may recognize a few of the “epic” pieces that will be performed.
The concert will also include the world premiere of The Crossing by Sheridan College’s David Ahrens, a work inspired by the adventure, scenery and grandeur of the Bighorn Mountains in northern Wyoming. The program will also feature a range of wind band repertoire, including John Philip Sousa’s The High School Cadets, Norman Dello Joio’s Scenes from The Louvre and many more.
The afternoon will open with a performance by the Sheridan College Trombone Choir featuring Mouret’s Rondeau, Gounod’s Funeral March of a Marionette, and Handel’s Minuet in C arranged by Chip DeStefano.
March 8 is also Time Change Sunday, and organizers encourage community members to reset their clocks and attend the concert.
