Governor Weighs-In on Special Session Legislation
Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon at a news conference Wednesday, addressed the two-day special session of the Wyoming Legislature that took place last Friday and Saturday. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
The Wyoming Legislature, for the first time since 2004, held a special session last Friday and Saturday in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Legislature approved three pieces of legislation that outlines how to spend the $1.25 billion that Wyoming received in federal CARES Act funding. Governor Mark Gordon said that the legislation is the first of many steps in the rebuilding process.
Gordon said that there are several specific dates tied to the legislation in regard to distributing the money.
The three pieces of legislation also support economic development projects, that may include healthcare infrastructure projects, and support for cities, towns, counties and tribal communities. Gordon said that the legislation also creates three relief programs that will provide assistance to businesses throughout Wyoming. The Governor said that the Wyoming Business Council will administer each of the business assistance programs.

Did even one legislator object to the temporary, emergency orders issued by the governor? Now two months past an “emergency situation.” Did even one of the people’s representatives mention that fact that only they are allowed to make law, not the governor? Did anyone try to prohibit the executive from extending his, now illegal, “orders” for a third time? Is anyone in office defending the constitution and our right to a republican form of gov’t? Or were they all just tripping over themselves to spend the federal largess, unconcerned about the destruction of our Republic.
