Ron RichterIn recognition of her contributions to Sheridan College, Dr. Anna “Katie” Egging was nominated by students, staff and faculty members for Sheridan College’s 2024 Innovative Educator of the Year Award. Sheridan College President Dr. Walt Tribley noted that Egging distinguished herself through her dedicated efforts to foster humanity in her online and hybrid classes, creating meaningful experiences and connections with every student. He also noted that one of the nominations for this honor came from a student who shared their appreciation of Egging’s ability and endeavors to connect and demonstrate her engagement with them.
The Wyoming Distance Education Consortium (WyDEC), an advisory committee for the council of Academic Vice Presidents of the Wyoming Community College Commission, recognizes one faculty member from each of the seven community colleges and the University of Wyoming each year for this honor. According to Tribley, recipients have put in significant and recognizable effort to create a collaborative, student-centered, active learning experience. According to a media release from Sheridan College, Egging will be honored at the eighth annual Wyoming Innovations in Learning Conference, which will be held in Casper October 21-22.
