Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction Megan Degenfelder released the ACT results Friday for the 2024 graduating class. Information from the Wyoming Department of Education states that Wyoming has achieved the highest average composite score of states in which all students are required to take the ACT. Wyoming’s graduating class of 2024 had an average composite ACT score of 19.1. Results also show the percentage of students meeting all four ACT College and Career Readiness benchmarks trended up slightly with a 0.2 percent increase over 2023.

Forty-seven percent of graduates increased their ACT scores an average of 0.9 points by taking the test multiple times, better-qualifying them for their school of choice and additional scholarship support. Over 200 of these students moved into a higher Hathaway Scholarship Program level, and 60 percent of all graduates earned Hathaway Scholarship support to further their education in Wyoming.

Graduates on a career pathway have the opportunity to earn a National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) by participating in the ACT WorkKeys. This year Clearmont K-12 School graduate Betz William earned the highest certification possible, a Platinum NCRC. These credentials are accepted by employers statewide and can allow the opportunity for a higher base salary or other benefits.
